Leather and fabric upholstered furniture
Fabric covered chairs, sofas and suites. Our specialists are highly experienced in repair, restoration and cleaning of leather covered furniture be it the replacement of panels or removal of abrasions and scratches. Our experience proves that significant savings can be made particularly where cleaning can be carried out to fabric upholstered furniture in comparison to replacement costs.

If it is necessary to remove a sofa, chair or table for restoration, we offer the policyholder at no cost, loan furniture to minimise any inconvenience to them.

Artwork
We specialise in assessing and repairing fine art including valuable paintings. We are aware of the difference between restoration and conservation and take steps to ensure that insurers are not involved in conservation unless of course it is inextricably linked with the restoration work. TSG have the resources to restore paintings, prints and photographs. This service also extends to replacement or repair of mounts and frames (including elaborate gilded examples). Prior to any work being carried out a full economic appraisal and quotation is provided.

Clocks
We are able to repair and restore all types of mechanical clocks from long case to miniature carriage clocks. We can also validate their age and value and recommend whether or not repair or restoration is viable and appropriate.

Pianos
TSG have considerable experience assessing, repairing and restoring pianos.
Please note that we can collect all types of piano nationally for restoration and repair.

Ceramics and glass
We offer a postal service for our ceramics claims where we send out a box with packaging to the policyholder who can then call us to arrange courier collection once ready. Invisible repairs can be made to valuable china and porcelain. The value of the item and its damage is always carefully checked to assess whether the work is financially viable. If the damage is too great for an economic repair then, in the majority of cases, we are able to supply a replacement, even when the item is out of production.

We repair or replace mirrors, glass table tops and glazed furniture where damaged by an insured peril.

Collectibles (metalwork - silver, silver-plate, pewter and spelter, ivory and bone, glass, resin, plastic and woodcarvings)
These items can often be economically repaired. If not we are still able to validate the claim, provide a valuation and in many cases, supply a replacement.
